Abstract
Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy is a self-limiting disease generally seen in the first pregnancy during the third trimester. The clinical manifestations include erythematous urticarial papules and plaques that begin on the
abdomnen
and spread to the thighs and occasionally to the buttock and arms. Mucous membranes are usually not involved. Histopathologic findings revealed focal spongiosis in the epidermis and lymphocytic perivascular infilteration in the dermis.
Immunofluorescence studies are negative. Etiology is unknown. Treatment should be directed toward symptomatic relief only. We have experienced two cases of PUPPP and report that with review of journals and textbooks.
